Apple acquires C3 Technologies

October 29th, 2011 No comments

In August, Apple acquired C3 Technologies, the company responsible for the incredible demonstration shown in the above video. With relationships becoming increasingly tense between Apple and Google, despite Apple renewing its commitment to Google Maps with iOS 5, you’d be blind not to see what Apple has up its sleeve.

iOS 6 is likely to launch at some point in 2012 and if they can pull off anything resembling the above, they look set to blow the competition out of the water.

Super-levitation

October 22nd, 2011 No comments

This is, quite literally, the most incredible technology I have ever witnessed.

The university of Tel-Aviv, conducting research into superconductors has achieved super-levitation and suspension resulting in frictionless movement.

There’s no way of appreciating how incredible this is until you’ve seen the video, and for a little extra (double deck levitation and obstacles) see the video below. Enjoy! Read more…

FIFA 12 Player Impact physics engine fail

It looks like EA’s new player collision engine could use a little more work. EA claims that it “processes decisions continuously in real-time at every point of contact on a player’s body.” I would certainly watch more football if this reflected reality.

Nike Air Mag AKA the Back to the Future Shoes!

Honestly, if you don’t remember these kicks the first thing you need to do is stop reading this post and think long and hard about your childhood. The second thing you need to do is watch Back to the Future Part II and the final thing you need to do is visit nikemag.eBay.com and brace your wallet.

I guess you could also watch the video after the break to get excited too. Read more…

Excellent, although I think the video editor missed a beat not using Wet Wet Wet on the soundtrack.

Samsung Galaxy Note – Now this looks like competition

September 7th, 2011 No comments

Samsung has unveiled its latest contender in the smartphone battle, the Samsung Galaxy Note.

The Galaxy Note is equipped with the world’s first 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED Display (WXGA 1280×800, 285ppi). It sports a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, 8MP camera with LED flash and a 2MP camera on the front.

No word yet on battery life but if it can live up to the hype of the video below count this Apple fiend impressed.
