Merry Christmas from the Geekly Update

What are you doing reading this, surely you have better things to do… Might I recommend the leftover, over-cooked, progressively drying turkey in the fridge or the Only Fools and Horses and Vicar of Dibley re-runs on the telebox.

Whatever your closet Christmas pleasure, merry Christmas, eeeveryone.

At the rear of the shop is an ‘answer bar’ where you can ask employees any questions you might have about their products.

No Apple didn’t just open a new shop, Microsoft opened their first. Read more…

Facebook and Twitter Fall to Hackers

August 6th, 2009 No comments

The social networkig world slowly ground to a halt today when both Facebook and Twitter stopped working. Both sites slowed to a crawl during the day presenting users with a miriad of technical errors and connection issues.

Twitter confirmed this afternoon that their site was hit by a Denial-of-Service attack resulting in a complete collapse of their servers. Essentially a DOS attack overloads a server with false hits, overwhelming it and causing it to shit down. Facebook have yet to comment on their service issues but one should imagine that they were facing similar attacks most likely from the same individual.

This must have been one rather anti-social hacker, not that one would suppose the hacking community comprises the most outgoing and convivial bunch of peeps.
