Halo: Reach multiplayer beta trailer announces several new features
Officially out on 2 May 2010, the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta looks set to shake up the Halo universe once again. This trailer highlights a plethora of new gameplay mechanics and game modes that is sure to set any Halo fan twitching until the release of the beta.
Whilst none of the specifics in the video have received official assent from Bungie, several sites have posted their own, super-slow-mo breakdowns of the contents of the trailer. IGN’s serving, which can be seen in the second video below, is particularly good. Bungie are the unconquerable masters of viral marketing and are adept at hiding clues in all their promotional material. This trailer is no exception to the rule and shows new features such as armour equipment allowing players to sprint faster, a jet pack to propel oneself into the air amongst others, a host of new game types, what would appear to be a drop-in, drop-out gameplay mechanic, assassinations, new weapons and much more.
Alongside these additions are a serving of increased visuals and gameplay tweaks including expanding shot reticules to mimic firing kickback. All in all, this trailer looks mighty impressive and you can guarantee that if Bungie are running the show, the multiplayer experience will be second to none. Thats how they do baby.
