Repair Service Finds iPad Camera Slot

February 2nd, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

The guys over at Mission:Repair received their first shipment of replacement Apple iPad parts today and noticed something rather strange about the metal internal frame. It has a camera slot which, from their testing allows the perfect housing of the camera module from one of the new MacBook Pros. The camera slips into the frame, the lens fits the hole, the LED that indicates that the camera is on fits and the ambient light sensor hole is also correct. Conclusion, an iPad with a camera isn’t too far away. Check out the images for yourself.

In addition there is an increasing amount of evidence circulating the internet that the iPad Steve Jobs was holding at the media event in fact had a camera installed. All this in addition the finding that the new iPhone OS SDK clearly allows for the building of iPad Apps that present the option of being able to take pictures is rather convincing. See these images and those of the bezel for yourself below.

Typical apple release without something on purpose so you can release it with it later on. Good products but they can be evil bastards !
