I can find very few words to express just how excited I am about owning this product. It does everything I wanted it to with very few omissions. Nobody expected it to be $499 and at that price, this device is going to skyrocket Apple further into the household domain. Read on for specs.

The device has a 9.7-inch, LED backlit, IPS multitouch display. It weighs just 1.5 lbs and is only 0.5 inches think. It has a 10 hour battery life and leave this bad boy on standby and it will still have a charge in a months time. Nearly every app currently on the App store will work out of the box and developers will be making native apps as of today.

It plays video, music has a built in iBook store and allows incredible interactive content over the internet and vie email. Potential purchases will have the choice of buying either a WiFi only or WiFi and 3G iPad with no-contract $14.99/month and $29.99/month data plans allowing for 250mb and unlimited data respectively.

It will come in  range of storage sizes from 16 – 64 GB of flash memory and as one would expect packs an accelerometer and compass.

It features a software keyboard than is nearly the same size as that on a laptop and allows user customisation of layout in many applications. iWork has been remade specifically for the iPad and looks to work seamlessly and efficiently. Those unconvinced by the software keyboard can make use of a keyboard dock which allows text input by a hard keyboard whilst the device is docked in front of it.

There was so much information to take in its hard to list it all of the top of my head in this moment of excitement. For a full demonstration of the iPad’s features check out Apple’s website for this video. If you are adverse to the odd goose-bump you may wish to avoid said content.
