Over the past few days reports have suggested that Apple will be hosting an event some time in January at which the mythical Tablet will be shown. The Financial Times reports today that Apple has scheduled a special media event for Tuesday, 26 January in San Fransisco.

Information is rather thin at the moment however, the venue at which the even has been scheduled is the same on that Apple have held their annual music-centric events in recent years. In addition the Financial Times is reporting that Apple is expected to make a “major product announcement” on the day.
