Nintendo Japan has just confirmed that existence of an all new DSi. The DSi LL will feature a 4.2 inch screen and will retail for around ¥20,000 (£135). The DSi LL is set to hit store shelves well in time for Christmas on 21 November.

Nintendo have revealed that the upgrade is aimed primarily at those who want to use their DSi for internet browsing and playiong music. The handset will come with three DSiWare titles pre-installed alongside two styli, one short and one long.

The choice of colours available at launch is a little concerning and may prove unpopular, but this is Nintendo, master of marketing, who am I to question. The handset will be available in Dark Brown, Wine Red and Natural White. As of yet there have been no European or US details announced.

A Nintendo UK representative has just confirmed to VG247 that the “DSi XL” console will be out in Europe in Q1 2010. It was also stated that the retail price is expected to be higher than that of the DSi but no solid pricing information was given.
