Hadouken! Shoryuken! and all that jazz is back for another battering and will be gracing a retailer near you sometime in Spring 2010.

So, today’s announcement of choice following an extensive hiatus is that Capcom has revealed that the sucessor to Street Fighter IV is real and in customary style shall come prefixed with the word SUPER!

The game will stand alone and will not be a DLC package or upgrade to the existing game. Those screaming rip-off should also know that the game will not be sold for full price although exact pricing has yet to be released.

The new game will feature 8 new character including the coveted Dee Jay and T. Hawk alongside newcommer Juri and five as yet unannounced others likely to include a mixed bag of old and new faces.

The new game is apparently a substantial re-write of the original with many fundamental changes in response to community feedback. Character balancing will be greatly increased alongside a vastly enhanced online experience.

[Update] It sounds as if lobbies will be making into the game (finally) and its likely that bonus stages will make a return. In addition whilst the original SFIV game isn’t needed to play the new game those who purchased SFIV and still have the disk will be “happy to have held on to it” as they’ll be receiving something nifty in addition. No word yet on what this might be.

All I can say is, rip-off or not I’m in!
