UK Gaming Market Declines

August 17th, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

The United Kingdom is no longer Europe’s biggest gaming market. Enter, Germany.

In the past few months the UK games market has been steadily declining due apparently to a lack of blockbuster games. It has to be said that the influx of good games has been poor to say the least in the past few months, who can blame consumers for not purchasing lackluster, sub-par games for £40-50 such as, oh I don’t know… Terminator Slavation, Transformers 2 blah blah blah.

Coupled with poor games are increase in prices or rather a lack of adequate price deductions from recommended retail prices courtesy of the pounds poor performance against the Euro whilst Germany’s market has been on a steady rise.

One can only speculate what the ‘lack of blockbuster games’ might mean in a few weeks when FIFA 10 roles out.
