Holiday Gaming
Before coming away on holiday I knew I would require the odd gaming fix whilst lounging on the beach or waiting for a certain someone to aptly tittify for dinner. As such, I invested in two iPhone games before leaving the UK. I knew I wanted games that could, as far as possible recreate the playing of a handheld console and looked into the top rated apps out.
During my scour of the digital highway two games frequently came out on top. These were Tiger Woods and Real Racing for the iPhone.
I am not going to write a review here and now as there are far more interestig things to be doing on the beach however I shall say this; both of these games are amongst the best mobile/handheld console games I have ever played. Granted I’m not a mobile gamer, but have played my share of DS, PSP and Gamegear games.
Tiger Woods is Tiger Woods, if you’ve played one of these games you know the score. Great gameplay and a solid lengthy PGA tour mode. The touch screen works really well with the gameplay mechanics and is a great way to burn some time.
Real Racing is fantastic. There are several ways in which you can control your car from steering by moving your finger to the obvious accelerometer steering method. The power of e iPhone really shines with this game, featuring not o ly a third…person view but also an in car steering wheel and full interior view. This is by far the best way to play the game and tilting your phone like a steerig wheel makes this games truly immersive. If anybody ever wanted a game for the iPhone, this is it, no question.
In Kuala Lumpurthere was free WiFi everywhere and I read that one of my favourite games of all time; The Secret of Monkey Island had made it’s way to the iPhone after months of rumours. I am currently downloading this and will post my thoughts at some point. Anyone who is a fan of the Monkey Island series or the point and click genre as a whole is going to want to check this out. It has been completely remade in HD with audio from the original cast and is packed full of hilarious one-liners and ingenious puzzles. I know this because I Dow loaded it on XBLA the day it came out.
Right, enough beach-blogging. Toodleoo for now readers.

Reads like a review to me….
