Last.fm for Xbox: Two Key Questions
There can be no question that the addition of the Last.fm service to the Xbox 360 is indeed more than welcome but there are two questions in particular that have yet to be addressed.
Firstly and perhaps most importantly in terms of functionality is whether or not the service will be accessible whilst perofrming other tasks on the Xbox such as playing games or browsing the marketplace. Secondly and arguably more importantly, how much will the service cost?
Well, today Kotaku has an answer to at least one of these questions reporting that silver users, will have access to a 3-month trial, which is lumped with video advertising whilst gold users, will get unlimited access, but again, this will be ad-supported. To get Last.fm with no ads, you’ll need to subscribe, which will also get you a few extra features.
No word on how much this add-free service will cost 360 users and no word on the ability to use the sevice in-game, but for reference, a regular Last.fm subscription on a computer will set you back $3 a month.
