Oracle to Acquire Sun for $7.4 Billion
The big news in the business world on Monday was the announcement that Oracle will be acquiring Sun Microsystems for the sum of $7.4 Billion, pocket change. Oracle are essentially a hardware manufacturer and so some are branding this move as “Apple-like” in an attempt to tie hardware and software together in an attempt to tightly control a user experience through intricate integration of the two, something Apple has been exceptionally successful at over the years.
