We all know Apple charges over and above for it’s product and as a result this has coined the phrase ‘Apple Tax’ for their sometimes exorbitant pricing.

The new iPod shuffle costs £59 brand spanking new, but exactly how much does it cost Apple to manufacture and bring to market taking into account shipping, labour and advertising? The answer is… £12.

By my rather crude calculation this would mean that Apple Tax = 400%

A nice margin.
