Geekly Update 02/03/09 – We are not worthy
A well regarded internet source who were officially the first to bring the world the exclusive first look at the re-designed booty of the iPhone 3G some six months prior to it’s release in 2008 have signed their name once again alongside what appears to be another leak.
Please see attached photo.
MacRumors is claiming that their source inside Mr Jobs’ Chinese manufacturing plant has provided this picture of what the next iteration will look like. At fist glance it doesn’t appear to be significantly different to the iPhone we all presently know and love however… You may notice first of all that the text on that back of the phone now appears to be written in either silver or white (my personal guess would be silver considering apple’s obvious efforts as of late to move towards a more aluminium based product line). This approach to changing from what can only be described as grey writing on the back of the 3G model is not a revelation in itself but accompanies what MacRumors are reporting to be a black aluminium back cover for the next generation of handsets (writing in grey on metal wouldn’t have worked).
Finally supporting their claims that this is indeed the back cover from Apple’s yet to be unveiled iPhone is the small fact that the model number displayed is “1303″. If i may turn your attention to your own iPhone (sorry Hemish) you will notice that your model is begins “12**”. I would imagine Bareham that yours is “1241″ alike mine.
May I conclude this Geekly update by taking the opportunity to apologise for instilling in your minds the possibility that there may indeed be a new iPhone on the way without any material facts or shipping date. If you love your iPhone as much as I (and from resent conversations I feel you do), the prospect of a new handset is very exciting, yet frustratingly annoying given no other information.
Geek Out (and Charlie… you are not worthy, none of us are)
